The West TN Behavior Supports Project is excited to announce the

4th Annual
Schools of Recognition (SOR) &
Model of Demonstration (MOD) Schools
Awards
Competition!

More than 40% of our West TN RTI2-B schools were recognized in 2018-19 as either SOR or MOD schools, and we believe that we will have an even greater number of schools this year.

How do I apply to be a School of Recognition or Model of Demonstration School?

See below for the requirements for consideration for a School of Recognition. Schools that meet the requirements for School of Recognition may be selected to apply for a Model of Demonstration School designation.

Requirements for Consideration for a School of Recognition:

  1. Schools must attend our RTI2-B Tier 1 Training before completing the application.

  2. Schools of Recognition will be selected based on their TFI scores and responses to the application.

  3. The TFI and TFI Action Plan are required to be considered a School of Recognition.

  4. The deadline for submission of the Schools of Recognition application has been extended to Friday, October 25, 2019.

Required documentation:

  1. Latest Implementation Manual

  2. Current TFI Scoring and Action Plan

Why should I apply to be a School of Recognition/Model of Demonstration?

SOR/MOD Schools are regarded as the most successful RTI2-B Implementers in TN. Don’t miss out on this important recognition for your school!

We make every effort to ensure that our SOR and MOD schools are widely recognized and respected. For the first time, all MOD Schools will receive an RTI2-Behavior Banner to display at their school that will reflect their Bronze, Silver, or Gold status! We also honor our MOD/SOR schools on our website and social media pages. Schools that achieve Schools of Recognition or Model of Demonstration status will be recognized at the 2020 PIE Conference in Nashville in the following ways:

  • School Names and Districts will be scrolled continuously on the jumbo video screens in the ballroom and on video screens across the conference.

  • School Names and Districts will be printed in the PIE program.

  • A special recognition ceremony will take place during the Wednesday PIE luncheon (schools do not have to attend but can have a district representative pick up their awards).

  • A press packet for local recognition will be provided by our office.
